Adopt a Tortoiseshell (short coat)

Tortoiseshell (short coat) Cat

Zia the Cat needs a home

This striking tortie girl is Zia.  She was found by a good samaritan last winter during a cold spell.  Initially, it was believed that she was feral as she was very skittish and timid around people.  However, with time, patience and lots of one-on-one socialization, Zia has blossomed into a sweet, loving and affectionate cat that seeks attention from her humans.  She still startles at loud noises and sudden movements, but she has come leaps and bounds from the shy, scared kitty that she once was.  She now realizes that getting pet is a great thing and will often follow me around as I do chores and rub against my legs or give me sweet head bonks.  She is a petite yet compact kitty and probably won't get much bigger than 7-8 lbs.  She's not big on being held, but that's okay - many kitties aren't and I'm perfectly fine with her snuggling next to me or climbing into my lap when she feels the urge to do so.  She does just fine with other cats once properly introduced, and I often find her mothering my foster kittens.  She would do best in a home without young children as I think their energy levels may be a bit too much for her.  Zia is spayed, negative for FeLV/FIV, current on shots and microchipped - DOB 11/1/14 (tag # 9970).
